Hackers broke into the internal systems of the largest telecommunications company in Argentina Telecom S.A. and demand to pay $ 7.5 million in Monero cryptocurrency.

According to a local publication, it is reported that the attack did not affect users and did not affect the services provided by the company.
Telecom S.A lost access to Office 365 and OneDrive files, and some of its internal systems were also compromised.
The Monero amount announced by the attackers must be submitted by Tuesday night, July 21. Otherwise, it will double and the ransom will be $ 15 million. In addition to demanding payments, the hackers also left a link to a site where you can purchase Monero.
According to some reports, the attack was organized by the hackers behind the Sodinokibi ransomware.
The hacker group previously said it will completely abandon Bitcoin in favor of Monero to make it harder for law enforcement to track transactions.
