The first validator fined on Ethereum 2.0 network
In the Ethereum 2.0 network, one of the validators lost part of the stake for block corruption. This was announced by lead developer Justin Drake.
The validator is fined 0.25 ETH on slot 6669. At the time of writing, his balance is below 32 ETH, so he cannot participate in the block release.
Over the last 24 hours, the validator participation rate is 96.99%.

Drake recalled that in the first phase of the Ethereum 2.0 launch, it was decided to ease sanctions for isolated incidents. Over time, the amount of the fine will return to 1 ETH.
Earlier, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said that fines are imposed for violation of the rules and malicious acts. In the first months of the protocol’s operation, they will not exceed a quarter of the stack size on the Medalla testnet.
Recall that the launch of the zero phases of Ethereum 2.0 took place on Tuesday, December 1.
